Cold weather payment

During periods of very cold weather, payments are made to help people pay for extra heating costs.  You may be able to get Cold Weather Payments if you are in receipt of certain benefits.  If the average temperature where you live has been be recorded as, or forecast to be, 0°C or below for 7 days in a row, a Cold Weather Payment of £25 is paid for each 7 day period.

Tell your pension centre of Jobcentre Plus office if you think you should have received a Cold Weather Payment but haven’t.  For more information visit www.gov.uk/cold-weather-payment
